Sara Armella

Lawyer and founder of Armella & Associati, Sara Armella is one of the world’s leading experts in customs law.

Member of the International Customs Law Academy (ICLA), an international academy bringing together the world’s top 100 experts, she has also been a member of the ICLA Board of Directors since 2025.

She is the author of over one hundred articles published in national and international journals and of four monographs, including “Diritto doganale dell’Unione europea” and “European Union Customs Law”, and is also the author of the entry on ‘Customs duties’ in the online “Treccani Encyclopaedia”.

She chairs the Customs Commission of ICC Italy and represents Italy on the Customs and Trade Facilitation Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. She

teaches customs law on various postgraduate master’s programmes.

In 2023, she was appointed to the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s Expert Commission on the reform of the customs system and is a member of the Customs and

International Trade Working Group of Confindustria and ICE.

She is the scientific director of Arcom Formazione, a school offering advanced training for businesses and professionals.
