Ms. Barros is a legal assistant at UNO’s Sao Paulo office. She provides assistance in legal matters related to trade remedies investigations, especially in preparing questionnaire responses and drafting memoranda defending the parties’ interests. She is also responsible for research in international trade, focusing on WTO law and dispute settlement, national trade remedies regulations as well as domestic and foreign courts case-law.
Furthermore, she also provides assistance in customs matters, relating to import tax reductions based on lack of a similar national product (“ex-tarifarios”) and procedures of restitution of antidumping duties unduly paid.
Ms. Barros holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo (USP), and profoundly analyzed the agricultural subsidies regime at the WTO on her thesis. She completed part of her undergraduate studies in a one-year study abroad program at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), London, United Kingdom.
In May, 2016, Ms. Barros participated in the Seminar of Chinese Language and Culture for Brazilians, held in Beijing, China. In the period of August to December, 2016, she concluded the course Trade Compliance Officer (TCO) Certification, offered by KGH Education Services and by ICI.BR.
Prior to joining UNO, Ms. Barros was an intern in the tax department at the law firm Levy & Salomão Advogados, São Paulo, Brazil.
