During the month of October, the University of Liège’s HEC Executive Education is organizing its specialized module on “import / export – customs declaration” (full program and registration are available from here)
During 5 days (5, 12, 19, 26 October and 9 November), all questions relating to customs declarations, but also to the various mandatory notifications to customs authorities and dedicated IT applications will be reviewed and explained.
This training will take place exclusively ONLINE, to facilitate access to as many participants as possible while preserving the quality of interactions with participants. It will combine theory (legal aspects / procedures / SAD cases, explanatory notes, etc.) and practical exercises (encoding of declarations, case analysis).
To meet the pressing demand from operators, a full day will dedicated to BE GATE and ICS2, coordinated by Isabelle Kelder from the Belgian customs authorities. Registration to this sole day is possible.
This training meets a real need from companies: those who actively recruit and those who come to settle in Liège. Very often, the staff hired has very little expertise in the matter, which cannot be fulfilled solely by sharing knowledge within already overburdened departments. Poor understanding of the declarative process leads to costly mistakes for operators, and will be an obstacle to obtaining new customs authorisations, or could lead to losing existing authorisations.
Brexit, the elimination of VAT exemptions, ICS2, BE-GATE, adaptation of PLDA (the platform of the Belgian customs) to comply with EU requirements, gradual implementation of the new Union customs code, … never has training been more necessary and timely!
